We collect only information necessary to provide appointment monitoring and reservation services. This includes:

• Full name
• Email address
• Location preferences (city, zip code, preferred DPS offices)
• Availability windows (days and times you are available for appointments)
• Account login credentials (stored securely using encryption)
• Mobile phone number (optional, only if you opt in to SMS appointment alerts or promotional messages — see Section 3 below)
• Payment information (processed securely through third-party payment providers; we do not store card numbers)

1.2 — How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively to:

• Provide appointment monitoring and browsing services
• Attempt automated appointment reservations on your behalf (premium users only)
• Send notifications regarding appointment status
• Manage your account and preferences
• Process payments for premium services

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings or by contacting us directly. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

1.7 — Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services for payment processing, analytics, and infrastructure. These providers are contractually bound to handle your data securely and only as necessary to perform services on our behalf.

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data to help us improve the service. You can opt out by declining cookies when prompted.

1.8 — Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

• Account credentials — securely encrypted to maintain your account access
• Payment status — to manage premium subscription features (we do not store card numbers)

You have the right to:

• Access all personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information at any time
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Withdraw consent for data processing (which may limit service availability)
• Export your data in a commonly used format upon request

SMS Messaging Privacy

My State Scheduler offers two optional, separate SMS programs: appointment alerts (transactional) and promotional messages (marketing). You can opt in to either, both, or neither — opting in is never a condition of using the service. The information below applies only when you choose to opt in.

3.1 — What We Collect for SMS

If you opt in to one or both SMS programs, we collect:

• The mobile phone number you provide
• Your opt-in selections (alerts, promotional, or both)
• A timestamped record of your consent (required by federal law)
• Records of messages sent to and received from your number, including STOP and HELP requests

3.2 — Our SMS Data Commitment

The only situations in which your mobile phone number is disclosed to a third party are:

• Our SMS provider (Vonage) — solely to deliver the messages you have consented to receive. Vonage is contractually bound to use your number only for that purpose.
• Legal compliance — when required by a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful request.
• Safety, rights, or property — to protect you, us, or others when we believe in good faith it is necessary.

3.3 — Stopping SMS Messages

Reply STOP to any message to opt out of that program. Reply HELP to receive help. Opting out of one program (such as promotional) does not opt you out of the other (such as appointment alerts) — to stop both, reply STOP to a message from each program. Standard message and data rates may apply. We retain the record that you opted out so we can honor that choice going forward.

3.4 — How Long We Keep SMS Records

We retain your consent records and message logs for at least four years after your most recent activity, in order to comply with the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and to address any disputes about consent. After that period, we delete or anonymize the records.
